It's the off-season, WHAT DO WE DO???

So it's not winter now, obviously (the thermostat showing 90+ degrees every day was a good indication of that). So what do we do?

Well first, check out my volleyball club, NJ Social/Competitive Volleyball if you're interested in playing volleyball, either recreational or competitive (B/BB/A-level). We run open gyms, tournaments, clinics, and leagues.

If you don't want to play volleyball, don't worry! I'm trying to set up a hiking trip or something adventurous soon, so check back now and then to see if I post anything. If you have any ideas for activities you would want to do, or would like to organize/lead a group in some kind of activity, just send me (the organizer) a message on Meetup and I'll be thrilled to hear that there's interest.

Okay, but what about WINTER??? Well, we may have some space for a few people in an NJ Snow member's house in Quebec (near Mt. Tremblant), but that's very limited space. Other than that, I'll try to start checking out hotel and lift ticket package group rates and see if we can get something awesome set up this winter.

Fresh Powder just waiting for us to ride..

With all the fresh powder on the ground, let's do another day trip to Camelback! Details at www.meetup.com/njsnow as usual.

If you're interested, check the event page on Meetup and comment to let me know that you're interested.

Unfortunately, my travel agent contact has been incredibly slow to get back to me about details for a weekend trip to upstate NY, so that's not likely to happen this season. Next season, however, I plan to do at least a couple of 2 or 3-day trips to upstate NY, Vermont, or somewhere else a little bigger than the Poconos. With group discounts, the prices should be very affordable, and if our previous meetups have been any indication, we'll have a fun, social group of skiers/boarders.

I'm just as disappointed as you guys that I couldn't make it happen. I had a few unexpected work trips that took up a lot time this winter, but that shouldn't happen again. On the plus side, if you need someone to repair your the wires going to and from your landline phone, I can probably fix them (or at the very least, slice them open, make a mess, and duct-tape it all back together)!

See you on the slopes!

What's happening?

Hey everyone, quick update on upcoming trips/activities:

Day trips:
Just set up our next trip, back to Camelback this time. I'm also going to see about getting us some deals on triple-play cards.

Multi-day trips:
Right now I'm looking at doing a 2-day weekend trip to Belleayre Mountain in NY. We would get group-rate lift tickets for both days, and my next task is to find cheap lodging. I might try to get us a big van or two. This trip will probably be sometime around late February, but I'll be posting the event on Meetup soon.

Make sure to sign up on www.meetup.com/njsnow to get updates and RSVP for events.

What is NJSnow?

We're just a group for anyone interested in snowboarding/skiing (and/or hiking when we're not on the slopes). All levels are welcome to join, including complete beginners.

This group was created to make organizing trips easier, to help us get enough people to get group discounts, to help people organize carpools, and to meet new people, so invite your friends!

I should note that most of our members are in their 20's/30's, but anyone is welcome to join.
